Visited Every County and Connected with Families From all Across Jersey

Laser-Focused on Lowering Taxes and Costs

HACKENSACK, NJ — This week, Congressman Josh Gottheimer wrapped up his 21-County “Jersey Diner Tour” where he met with families across the state to hear directly about the issues that matter most to them.

Gottheimer finished up his diner tour by sharing his vision on how to make life more affordable and highlighting his “Tax Cut Plan” to lower taxes and costs for Jersey families. The final leg of his tour included stops at Ponzio’s Diner in Camden County, Seven Star Diner in Gloucester County, and Elmer Diner in Salem County.

“Everything good in Jersey starts in a diner. It’s the best place to come together to share our stories, break bread, and tackle the issues that matter most,” said Gottheimer. “I’ve spent my 21-County ‘Jersey Diner Tour’ listening to folks across the state share their hopes and worries for their life in Jersey—and what I keep hearing, booth after booth, is that people love Jersey, but it is just too expensive. People are struggling to make ends meet. We’ve got to make Jersey more affordable, and so when I say I’ll be the ‘Lower Taxes, Lower Costs’ Governor—I mean it. As a problem solver, I won’t stop fighting until the job is done. Every mom and dad, construction worker or accountant, older person or college student that I talked to in these diners can count on me to cut their taxes and make it easier to get by. Help is on the way.”

After hearing from so many Jersey families about how high taxes and costs are in our state, Josh created his “Tax Cut Plan,” which will lower property taxes by nearly 15 percent, give renters an annual rebate, help families and seniors make ends meet, and bring jobs and families to Jersey.

Since launching his candidacy in November at Runway Diner in Bergen County, Gottheimer has visited diners in all 21 Jersey counties. He has stopped at Harley Dawn Diner in Atlantic County, Runway Diner in Bergen County, Vincentown Diner in Burlington County, Ponzio’s Diner in Camden County, Rio Grande Diner in Cape May County, Millville Queen Diner in Cumberland County, Chit Chat Diner in Essex County, Seven Star Diner in Gloucester County, Miss America Diner in Hudson County, Clinton Station Diner in Hunterdon County, Americana Kitchen and Bar in Mercer County, Skylark Diner in Middlesex County, Yellow Rose Diner in Monmouth County, Three Brother’s Restaurant in Morris County, Tuscany in Ocean County, The Hawthorne Diner in Passaic County, Elmer Diner in Salem County, Time to Eat Diner in Somerset County, Andover Diner in Sussex County, Huck Finn Diner in Union County, and River Star Diner in Warren County.
