The Only Candidate with a Plan—and Record—to Get it Done
Property Taxes in Jersey are Highest in the Nation—Even Higher Than Park Ave, NY
A Born Fighter, Josh Will Lower Taxes and Costs—And Fight Trump
HACKENSACK, NJ — Today, Congressman Josh Gottheimer, Democratic candidate for Jersey Governor, released the latest ad in his multi-million dollar television and digital ad buy. In “Park Avenue,” Gottheimer explains that property taxes on Park Avenue, West Orange, in New Jersey, are higher than property taxes on Park Avenue in New York, a street famous for luxury real estate. Gottheimer has released a detailed, expert-backed “Tax Cut Plan” to lower property taxes by 15 percent and give renters an annual rebate.
“It makes no sense that property taxes on Park Ave in New Jersey are higher than property taxes on Park Ave in New York,” said Gottheimer. “As Governor, I’ll cut property taxes by 15 percent, give renters an annual rebate, and lower utility bills and costs across Jersey. And I’ll stand up to Trump’s outrageous tariffs and attacks on our families, seniors, and children.”
Gottheimer, a Democratic candidate for Governor, is a born fighter. Josh has a history of taking on tough fights, working for Presidents Clinton and Obama, then in Congress, and now running for Governor. He has led efforts in Congress to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid from Trump’s cuts—and he’ll keep fighting back as New Jersey’s next Governor. Gottheimer has a long record of getting things done that people said were impossible, and he’ll do the same in his next big fight—lowering taxes and costs and making life more affordable for hardworking families in Jersey.

Park Avenue
[Gottheimer] Park Avenue, New York.
Property taxes are lower on this Park Avenue than Park Avenue in Jersey.
We have the highest taxes in America. Some tell you it’s impossible to fix. Well, they’re wrong.
Jersey just needs a fighter.
[Narrator] Josh worked for Presidents Clinton and Obama. In Congress, he took on the
impossible, passing infrastructure and gun safety laws.
Now, he’s taking on Trump.
[Gottheimer] As Governor, I’ll cut property taxes by 15%, cut taxes for seniors, give renters a
rebate, and lower costs.
It’s not impossible. I’ll fight to get it done and always get your back.
