Josh Will Lower Taxes and Lower Costs to Make Jersey More Affordable
Van Zandt Rallies Support for Gottheimer’s Campaign

NEW MILFORD, NJ — Last night, at a gathering of a couple hundred Democrats in Bergen County, Stevie Van Zandt, renowned guitarist of the E Street Band and former co-star of “The Sopranos,” announced his support of Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s campaign for Governor of New Jersey.
“Where’s the commonsense candidate? Where’s the guy that can work with both sides of the aisle and get things done? Where’s that guy? Well, I found him. His name is Josh Gottheimer,” said Van Zandt. “Josh believes Jersey should not be one of the states with some of the highest taxes in the country. And Josh has a plan. You know me well enough to know I would never steer you wrong. This is the guy that’s going to keep what’s best in Jersey and guide our state to be even better in the future, the next Governor of New Jersey, Josh Gottheimer.”
“As a diehard fan, I’m thrilled to have Stevie’s endorsement in this race,” said Gottheimer. “If you had told my 15-year-old self that I would be introduced by Stevie Van Zandt, I would’ve passed out. It’s a dream come true to share a stage with Stevie, whose legendary status in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame makes Jersey proud every day. He embodies everything when we talk about Jersey Values: grit, heart, loyalty, and giving back. I’m so thankful for his support.

As a young child Van Zandt moved to New Jersey, where he attended Middletown High School and kicked off his career in the Jersey Shore music scene. He’s performed in a number of bands, most famously Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, and has had a successful solo career. His legendary status is cemented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Van Zandt’s talents also extend to the screen, where he co-starred in The Sopranos. Van Zandt is also known for his role fighting apartheid in South Africa and for giving back to children by championing education across the country through his nonprofit, The Rock and Soul Forever Foundation, and it’s TeachRock program.
