Starts Campaign By Listening Directly to Families Across Jersey About Issues Impacting Them
Launches Diner Tour in Hudson, Union, Monmouth, & Essex Counties
HACKENSACK, NJ — Following his announcement for Governor, where he was joined by hundreds of elected officials, supporters, and family, Congressman Josh Gottheimer officially launched his “21 County Diner Tour” this week, kicking off a diner-by-diner tour of Jersey diner to hear directly from families about the issues on their minds. At each stop, Gottheimer will sit and talk with local families to hear their concerns, ideas, and hopes for the future of New Jersey.
True to his Jersey roots, Gottheimer has already made stops at the Miss America Diner in Hudson County, the Huck Finn Diner in Union County, the Yellow Rose Diner in Monmouth County, and the Chit Chat Diner in Essex County. These stops mark the beginning of a statewide tour that will span every county in New Jersey.
“Let’s be honest: everything good in Jersey starts in a diner,” said Gottheimer at his campaign launch Friday morning at the Runway Diner in South Hackensack. “It’s where we come together to share our stories, break bread, and tackle the issues that matter most. That’s exactly why I’m here—to listen, to learn, and to fight for hardworking families in every corner of this state.”
At each diner, Gottheimer is engaging with residents on critical issues, including lowering taxes, lower child care, utility bills, food, and housing costs, and just making life more affordable. He also talks to families about improving infrastructure and NJ Transit, strengthening public safety, and protecting Jersey Values, including protecting the environment and reproductive freedom. Drawing from his extensive track record of bipartisan problem-solving, Gottheimer reiterated his commitment to tackling the challenges that New Jersey families face.
“In just the first 24 hours of our campaign, I’ve heard from families directly that our state is too expensive and costs are too high,” Gottheimer said. “People love Jersey, but they’re struggling with high taxes, rising costs, and a lack of affordable housing. We can fix this, and I’ll be the ‘Lower Taxes, Lower Costs’ Governor who solves problems and gets it done.”
“This tour isn’t just about what’s on my mind; it’s about listening to what’s on theirs,” Gottheimer emphasized. “New Jersey families deserve a leader who puts their needs first, who understands their struggles, and who will fight tooth and nail to deliver results.”
As the tour continues, Gottheimer is set to visit diners in all 21 counties, ensuring every New Jersey family has a chance to share their voice and be part of the conversation.
